About the Role
You will lead the DevOps and AI Platform functions, developing approximately twelve engineers while owning hiring, coaching, levelling, and career development. You will define the DevOps strategy for release safety, developer experience, observability, cost, reliability, and scalability. You will also guide shared AI agent frameworks, MCP management, evaluation capabilities, and AI infrastructure. You will spread reusable practices across product groups, incorporate their feedback, partner with technical leaders on direction and delivery, apply a FinOps mindset to infrastructure spending, champion SRE practices, and support infrastructure and process readiness for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a track record of managing DevOps, platform, or infrastructure engineers, including hiring and building a growing team
- Possess sufficient cloud, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability expertise to make strategic decisions and guide senior engineers
- Demonstrate practical curiosity and emerging hands-on experience with AI, agents, and evaluations
- Understand the nuances of the AI-assisted software development lifecycle, including adoption, practices, and guardrails
- Possess Kubernetes literacy grounded in hands-on engineering experience
- Demonstrate practical and responsible use of AI in an engineering context and the ability to establish team norms
- Experience leading or building an internal platform, machine learning platform, developer-experience, or enablement function is preferred
- Exposure to agent frameworks, MCP, or evaluation frameworks is preferred
- Experience working during a company scaling phase is preferred
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 or SOC 2 infrastructure and process requirements is preferred
- Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems in a regulated or financial context is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and develop approximately twelve engineers across the DevOps and AI Platform functions
- Own hiring, levelling, coaching, and career development across both functions
- Set the DevOps strategy and operating model for release safety, developer experience, observability, cost, and scalability
- Lead the AI Platform function and its shared agent-building frameworks, patterns, MCP management, evaluation framework, and AI infrastructure
- Disseminate reusable AI agent practices to product teams and incorporate their feedback into shared approaches
- Partner with the AI Platform technical lead and senior engineers to shape technical direction and delivery
- Own infrastructure cost, scalability, and efficiency as transaction volume grows
- Champion SRE and reliability practices across the business
- Support infrastructure and process maturity for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications in partnership with information security
