About the Role
You will own IT infrastructure and operations end to end, establishing a 12–24 month architecture direction while remaining closely involved in major technical decisions and troubleshooting. You will forecast and optimize compute, storage, networking, licensing, and cloud capacity for demanding semiconductor engineering workloads. You will operate Linux HPC environments, workload schedulers, shared storage, CI/CD systems, build farms, registries, reproducible build environments, Kubernetes services, and source-control infrastructure. You will architect and manage hybrid infrastructure spanning Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, on-premises systems, virtualization, backups, corporate networks, and laboratory networks. You will establish security controls for sensitive design data and shipped software, including identity and access management, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, encryption, vulnerability management, software bills of materials, code signing, artifact provenance, and secure key handling. You will also guide security reviews and readiness for SOC 2 and ISO 27001. You will oversee employee onboarding and offboarding, service-desk performance, facilities technology, disaster recovery, asset management, budgets, cloud financial operations, vendor contracts, and infrastructure capacity planning. You will lead and expand the IT function while determining the appropriate balance of internal staff, managed service providers, and specialist firms.
Requirements
- Have at least 10 years of IT infrastructure experience, including at least 5 years leading infrastructure and operations teams
- Demonstrate experience scaling an IT environment through rapid organizational growth
- Possess a strong Linux and engineering-compute background
- Demonstrate deep expertise in at least one of Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS and the ability to operate across all three
- Have hands-on expertise in enterprise networking, including firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation
- Have hands-on expertise in enterprise storage, virtualization, and disaster recovery
- Have hands-on experience implementing IAM, MFA, endpoint management, logging, and enterprise security controls
- Demonstrate experience building service desks, asset-management practices, budgets, vendor contracts, and capacity-planning processes
Responsibilities
- Set and execute a 12–24 month architecture direction for IT infrastructure and operations
- Lead and grow the existing IT team
- Forecast and optimize infrastructure for compute-intensive EDA workloads
- Manage Linux HPC environments, workload schedulers, and large-scale shared storage
- Ensure infrastructure capacity is available ahead of design freezes, tape-outs, silicon bring-up, and SDK releases
- Own CI/CD systems, self-hosted runners, cross-compilation, and build farms across multiple architectures
- Manage container registries, artifact registries, dependency mirrors, reproducible build environments, Kubernetes services, and source control
- Architect and operate Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, on-premises servers, virtualization, storage, backups, and networks
- Plan capacity for compute, storage, bandwidth, licenses, and cloud resources
- Make build-versus-buy and cloud-versus-on-premises decisions
- Establish IAM, SSO, MFA, RBAC, privileged-access controls, endpoint security, DLP, encryption, vulnerability management, and secure remote access
- Define security boundaries for employees, contractors, and partners
- Lead customer security reviews and drive SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness
- Implement open-source license compliance, SBOM generation, code signing, artifact provenance, and secure key handling
- Own corporate, engineering, and laboratory IT infrastructure and access controls
- Coordinate power, cooling, rack space, cabling, and UPS requirements
- Build scalable employee onboarding and offboarding processes with standard images and role-based access
- Run a service desk with measurable SLAs
- Create and test disaster-recovery plans for critical systems
- Own IT operating and capital budgets, cloud FinOps, vendor selection, contracts, and asset management
- Negotiate with infrastructure and technology vendors
- Determine the appropriate mix of internal staff, managed service providers, and specialists
