About the Role
You will architect, implement, and own controls systems for AI-driven robotic cells. You will define device and software interfaces, design safety systems, lead electrical architecture and integration, establish data contracts, and build a small electrical, controls, and integration engineering team.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years designing controls systems and programming manufacturing equipment
- Experience architecting electrical and control systems for robotic or automated cells
- PLC programming and motion or drive integration
- Device integration using EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA, MQTT, or REST
- Industrial safety expertise including risk assessment, functional safety, and safety PLC programming
- Experience integrating shop-floor equipment with MES, Factory OS, or orchestration systems
- Technical leadership experience
Responsibilities
- Design and own controls systems for AI-driven autonomous cells
- Define hardware and software interfaces between devices and orchestration software
- Implement safety guardrails for stochastic command sources
- Own cell electrical architecture including power, safety, I/O, motion, networking, and HMI
- Design industrial electrical hardware directly or through subcontractors
- Develop device integration layers with drivers, adapters, schemas, and APIs
- Define commands, telemetry, alarm, traceability, and process-data contracts
- Lead safety design and compliance
- Build and lead electrical, controls, and integration engineering teams
