About the Role
You will lead two seven-week accelerator programs each year, recruiting and selecting life science startups, coaching founders and alumni, and building relationships with mentors, investors, stakeholders, and the Indiana startup community. You will work with the Program Manager to deliver program logistics, track and report performance metrics, engage IU LAB partners, represent the program at community events, and improve program strategy and processes.
Requirements
- Reside in the Indianapolis, Indiana area
- Have a foundational understanding of life science startups or experience as a founder or employee at a venture-backed company
- Have an understanding of technology commercialization
- Have leadership or management experience
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects, responsibilities, and external relationships
- Travel up to 15% and work some nights and weekends as needed
- Have strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Responsibilities
- Recruit relevant life science startups to apply to the program
- Engage mentors and investors to build a network of relevant resources
- Plan and execute logistics and operations for two accelerator programs per year with the Program Manager
- Evaluate startups, conduct supplementary diligence, and guide cohort selection
- Mentor participating startups and alumni on growth, networking, fundraising, and team expansion
- Collect and track company and market performance data
- Analyze and report program data and metrics to leadership and IU LAB partners
- Build and maintain relationships across Indiana’s and IU’s life science ecosystem
- Attend and prepare for regular meetings with IU LAB partners
- Report on startup and program success aligned with gBETA and IU LAB goals
- Support Indiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and represent gener8tor and IU LAB partners at community events
- Collaborate on initiatives, strategy, process improvements, and program best practices
