About the Role
You will lead global trade compliance operations covering export controls, customs, sanctions, and anti-boycott requirements. You will oversee classifications and licensing, manage import compliance and screening, conduct audits and risk assessments, respond to incidents, advise leadership, and build the trade compliance function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in global trade compliance, export controls, or customs
- Operational knowledge of ITAR, EAR, OFAC sanctions programs, and U.S. customs and import regulations
- Experience interfacing with BIS, DDTC, CBP, or OFAC
- Cross-functional communication skills and ability to advise senior executives
- U.S. citizenship or national status, lawful permanent residency, or protected-individual status
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the global trade compliance program
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls
- Oversee product and technology classification and export licensing
- Manage import compliance, customs valuation, country-of-origin determinations, tariff classification, and duties
- Lead denied-party, sanctions, and embargo screening
- Conduct risk assessments and internal audits and remediate gaps
- Lead responses to compliance incidents and government inquiries
- Advise leadership and cross-functional teams on trade compliance risks
- Build, mentor, and manage the trade compliance team
