About the Role

You will build and own the legal and regulatory framework for ESG disclosures. You will translate reporting obligations into practical controls, establish data-governance and assurance standards, review external claims, advise on ESG risks, and support governance, Board reporting, guidance, and training.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer in England and Wales or an equivalent jurisdiction.
  • Significant post-qualification experience in ESG, sustainability, governance, and regulatory disclosure.
  • Experience building governance frameworks, policies, controls, review processes, and evidence standards.
  • Knowledge of ESG and sustainability regulation and reporting frameworks.
  • Understanding of ESG disclosure risk, green claims, anti-greenwashing standards, and substantiation requirements.
  • Sector exposure to data centres, infrastructure, energy, technology, or AI infrastructure.
  • Experience with ESG investor engagement, rating agencies, or customer sustainability diligence.
  • Experience in a fast-scaling, regulated, or externally scrutinised environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build ESG regulatory and disclosure-control architecture.
  • Translate ESG regulatory requirements into business controls and governance processes.
  • Establish ESG policies, regulatory maps, disclosure reviews, and evidence standards.
  • Set ESG data-governance, audit-trail, and sign-off expectations.
  • Review external ESG claims and disclosures.
  • Mitigate greenwashing and regulatory disclosure risk.
  • Advise on ESG legal risks and substantiation standards.
  • Support ESG governance, Board reporting, guidance, and training.
