About the Role
You will advise cross-functional stakeholders on global privacy and AI regulations. You will build the privacy counseling and compliance program, support privacy contracting, manage incident response and notifications, deliver training, develop AI governance frameworks, monitor regulations, and engage with regulators and industry stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of legal experience combining large international law firm and in-house tech company experience
- Knowledge of global privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and US state privacy laws
- Knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks, including the EU AI Act and NIST AI Risk Management Framework
- Understanding of AI products, LLMs, and related legal issues
- Experience integrating AI into work
- Experience mentoring and managing junior team members
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating DPAs, BAAs, and privacy-related commercial terms
- Privacy risk assessment and compliance solution development
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Advise cross-functional teams on global privacy laws and related regulations
- Build and own the privacy counseling and compliance program
- Develop privacy expertise for regulated customer industries
- Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related commercial terms, including DPAs and BAAs
- Manage privacy incident response and notification obligations
- Develop and deliver privacy training
- Advise on emerging AI-specific privacy regulations
- Develop and implement AI governance policies and frameworks
- Monitor global AI and privacy regulations and advise leadership on risks and compliance initiatives
- Represent the company with regulators, industry groups, and external stakeholders on privacy and AI governance
