About the Role
You will own and deliver the development strategy, strengthen the existing foundation-grant pipeline, and build new revenue channels. You will cultivate senior funder relationships, support programmes with investment cases and funder engagement, oversee grant management and CRM records, and grow the development function.
Requirements
- Senior experience in philanthropic fundraising, major donor cultivation, or institutional development
- Track record of designing and establishing new revenue channels
- Knowledge of foundation and major-donor priorities
- Ability to set and deliver a multi-year fundraising plan
- Relationship management and principal-level cultivation experience
- Writing, speaking, and senior-colleague briefing skills
- Pitching, proposal development, and reporting skills
- Experience with CRM systems and fundraising tools
Responsibilities
- Own the development strategy and set fundraising priorities
- Manage the discretionary budget for contractors and specialist support
- Report progress to the Chief Communications Officer
- Run the existing funder pipeline toward multi-year commitments
- Build and test new revenue streams
- Lead a diversification scoping exercise with the Chief Communications Officer
- Support programme teams with investment cases and funder conversations
- Cultivate and manage senior funder relationships
- Prepare executive leaders, Board members, and programme directors for funder engagements
- Maintain reporting, compliance, grant management, and CRM data
- Recruit and line-manage the Development Officer as funding allows
- Direct contractors
