About the Role
You will lead and develop the design systems team, setting priorities, ownership, goals, and quality expectations. You will define the system vision; create reusable patterns, guidance, and quality evaluations; and improve visual design, interaction design, accessibility, and responsive behavior. You will guide technical architecture with engineers, build prototypes in code, support AI-enabled design workflows, and drive adoption across product teams.
Requirements
- Have experience leading and developing design or design engineering teams
- Demonstrate exceptional visual and interaction design skills
- Have systems-thinking experience building adopted design systems
- Prototype and build in code and understand front-end architecture
- Use AI hands-on in design and building workflows
- Turn design principles into reusable guidance, patterns, and quality checks
- Apply strong product judgment to real workflows and customer outcomes
- Create clarity in ambiguity, make decisions, and give feedback
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the design systems team
- Set priorities, ownership, goals, and quality expectations
- Own the design system vision and direction
- Elevate visual and interaction design, accessibility, responsive behavior, and product states
- Translate design principles into reusable patterns, reference experiences, composition rules, and guidance
- Guide technical architecture for components, tokens, agent guidance, interface composition, and quality checks
- Build prototypes and work in code to test ideas and unblock implementation
- Define repeatable quality evaluations and measure outcomes
- Partner with engineering and AI teams to improve workflows from idea to shipped experience
- Drive adoption through product-team collaboration, examples, and system improvements
- Experiment with evolving models and tools and adjust direction based on evidence
