About the Role
You will serve as the primary technical deputy to the X-BAT Air Vehicle Lead. You will maintain the aircraft technical baseline, lead multidisciplinary engineering integration, make aircraft-level technical decisions, manage risks, lead design reviews, and support fabrication, testing, qualification, production, and operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 12+ years of progressive experience developing complex aircraft, military aerospace systems, autonomous aircraft, or similarly integrated aerospace products
- Technical leadership experience on an aircraft-development program
- Broad understanding of aircraft design and integration across multiple engineering disciplines
- Experience across aerospace product lifecycle stages
- Experience managing system requirements, technical baselines, interfaces, design reviews, verification plans, and engineering risks
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical deputy to the X-BAT Air Vehicle Lead
- Maintain the air vehicle technical baseline, requirements, architecture, interfaces, configuration, performance, verification, and airworthiness evidence
- Lead day-to-day integration across engineering, manufacturing, and test disciplines
- Drive aircraft-level technical decisions and trade studies
- Establish and maintain technical-risk processes
- Lead technical and design reviews
- Align technical scope with schedule, budget, staffing, supplier, and customer commitments
- Define verification strategies and ground- and flight-test objectives
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions
- Document and communicate technical decisions and engineering changes
- Develop technical leadership capabilities across engineering leaders
- Communicate aircraft status, risks, decisions, and recovery plans
