About the Role
You will lead modeling, simulation, and algorithm-design work for propulsion and aerospace programs. You will develop high-fidelity models, control algorithms, and simulation architectures; evaluate system performance; document technical work; collaborate on integration and reviews; and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
- 10 years of modeling, simulation, and algorithm design experience
- Expertise in systems engineering, modeling and simulation, control systems, or a related discipline
- Experience leading and managing small technical teams
- Experience with MATLAB and MATLAB Simulink programming or similar tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
- Meet U.S. Government export-control requirements, including ITAR/EAR eligibility
- Travel approximately 10% of the time
Responsibilities
- Develop high-fidelity models and control algorithms for propulsion, flight control, and guidance subsystems
- Develop simulation architectures supporting design iteration, verification, and validation
- Perform controllability studies, define control system topologies, and support gain tuning
- Conduct requirement derivation, margin analysis, trade studies, and Monte Carlo, sensitivity, and parametric analyses
- Apply physics-based modeling to mechanical, thermal, aerodynamic, ballistics, propulsion, and actuation systems
- Integrate modeling products with GNC, software, systems, and test functions
- Author and review technical documentation and maintain verification, validation, traceability, and configuration control
- Mentor engineers and support technical trade studies and peer reviews
