About the Role
This role joins XTX Markets' Datacentre Operations team in Singapore and focuses on running the physical layer of datacentre infrastructure. Responsibilities include server racking, cabling, power management, component integration, network deployment, APAC colocation projects, and collaboration with Trading Development and Procurement teams. The position is based in the Singapore office and requires occasional international travel to datacentres predominantly in Asia.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in datacentres or infrastructure operations.
- Hands-on experience with switches, routers, and low-latency network design; Cisco, Mellanox, and Arista experience preferred.
- Experience building or operating low-latency trading infrastructure and APAC colocation projects.
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and multicast routing, including implementation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with server component installation, PCIe cards, firmware updates, and hardware diagnostics; Dell server experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with fibre optics, SFP/SFP+/QSFP/DWDM transceivers, and optical networking fundamentals.
- Strong change management, documentation, and verification discipline.
- Excellent communication skills for vendor coordination, exchange or broker integration, and remote-hands instruction.
- Flexibility to work Saturdays with time off in lieu or work a shifted week.
- Fluency in Mandarin and English.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute physical infrastructure deployments in APAC datacentres and support global datacentre operations.
- Supervise colocation setup, expansion, and equipment relocation projects.
- Maintain datacentres and replace failed components.
- Design, install, and maintain labelled structured cabling and monitor or expand power, space, and cooling capacity.
- Perform server integration, including fitting PCIe cards and NICs.
- Carry out hardware refreshes and failed component replacements.
- Coordinate with third parties regarding infrastructure support.
- Produce and maintain operational runbooks, install guides, test plans, and post-change verification.
- Review and approve infrastructure changes.
- Assist with inventory and logistics tasks supporting deployments.
