About the Role

You will lead a shift-based technician team and own day-to-day data centre operations and hardware lifecycle activities. You will coordinate deployments, cabling, inventory, incident response, facility escalations, operating procedures, and site expansion while recruiting, coaching, and performance-managing technicians.

Requirements

  • Experience in data centre operations or critical infrastructure
  • Experience leading shift-based technical teams
  • Knowledge of server hardware, rack-and-stack, component replacement, and structured cabling
  • Knowledge of copper and fibre installation, optics, and link-level troubleshooting
  • Experience managing hardware deployments, incidents, inventory, and operational priorities
  • People management, coaching, recruitment, and team development skills
  • English communication and stakeholder-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and develop a shift-based team of Data Center Technicians
  • Organise shift coverage, workload, priorities, handovers, and daily operations
  • Manage the hardware lifecycle from receiving through decommissioning
  • Ensure safe rack-and-stack, component replacement, cabling, and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate cluster deployments, capacity expansions, and hardware refreshes
  • Lead responses to hardware and connectivity incidents
  • Build and improve procedures, runbooks, safety practices, and escalation paths
  • Maintain asset, inventory, incident, maintenance, and work records
  • Recruit, onboard, coach, and performance-manage technicians
  • Monitor facility-provider communications and assess infrastructure impact
  • Escalate service, safety, and operational concerns
  • Participate in on-call rotation and lead urgent incidents
