About the Role
You will help run the physical layer of XTX's datacenter infrastructure, combining hands-on work such as server racking, cabling, power management, and component integration with network deployment support and Americas colocation project management. The position is based in New York with occasional travel to datacenters predominantly in the Americas.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in datacenters or infrastructure operations.
- Hands-on experience with switches, routers, and low-latency network design; Cisco, Mellanox, and Arista experience preferred.
- Experience building and operating low-latency trading infrastructure and Americas colocation projects.
- Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and multicast routing implementation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with server component installation, PCIe cards, firmware updates, and hardware diagnostics; Dell experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with fibre optics, SFP/SFP+/QSFP/DWDM transceivers, and optical networking fundamentals.
- Strong change management, documentation, and verification discipline.
- Excellent communication skills for vendor coordination, exchange or broker integration, and remote-hands instruction.
- Flexibility to work weekends with time off in lieu or an alternative schedule such as Tuesday through Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute physical infrastructure deployment in Americas datacenters and support global datacenter operations.
- Supervise colocation setup and expansion projects, equipment moves, and datacenter maintenance.
- Design, install, and maintain structured cabling and monitor power, space, and cooling capacity.
- Perform server integration, hardware refreshes, and failed component replacements.
- Coordinate infrastructure support with third parties.
- Maintain operational runbooks, install guides, test plans, and post-change verification documentation; review and approve changes.
- Assist with inventory and logistics tasks supporting deployments.
