About the Role
You will handle incoming data center support requests. You will install, configure, and maintain servers and network equipment; diagnose and replace failing hardware; coordinate facility and vendor maintenance; manage spare-parts inventory; document infrastructure and work performed; and escalate issues for prompt resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of data center technician or similar experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting server and network equipment
- Experience with large-scale network and server deployments
- Understanding of GPU hardware and liquid-cooled rack solutions
- Ability to independently manage facility projects
- Understanding of servers, network equipment, and data center services including power, cooling, and service-provider cross-connections
- Experience troubleshooting, building, repairing, and upgrading servers
- Organizational skills
- Communication skills
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain servers and network equipment, including racking, cabling, and physical configuration
- Respond to server, network, and infrastructure issues
- Coordinate with facility staff on power, cooling, maintenance, outages, and escalations
- Run hardware diagnostics and replace failing parts
- Coordinate with vendor warranty technicians
- Identify efficiency issues and develop resolution plans
- Maintain and document spare-parts inventory
- Collaborate with software and network engineering teams on cybersecurity and network efficiency
- Upgrade CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables
- Maintain documentation of infrastructure, work, and physical-parts inventory
- Escalate issues to ensure prompt resolution
