About the Role
You will manage the lifecycle of data center hardware assets. You will maintain inventory and DCIM records, run audits, support procurement, coordinate shipping and receiving, process RMAs, handle failed media securely, oversee vendor repairs, and perform basic hardware health checks.
Requirements
- 2+ years in inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations
- Understanding of shipping and receiving procedures and RMA workflows
- Ability to identify IT components including CPUs, DIMMs, SFP types, and fiber connectors
- Proficiency with inventory management software and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or NetBox
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 coverage model
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and warehouse equipment safely
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work in a loud, climate-controlled data center environment
Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of critical spare parts and tools
- Update DCIM and ERP systems as assets move in and out of ready-for-use status
- Conduct physical inventory audits
- Monitor stock levels and alert the Data Center Manager about reorder points
- Initiate and track vendor return merchandise authorizations
- Handle and track failed storage media in compliance with data privacy standards
- Manage loading dock, shipping, receiving, and carrier coordination
- Schedule and coordinate third-party vendor technicians
- Escort vendor technicians and enforce safety, security, and clean-room protocols
- Verify vendor repairs and log replaced parts
- Identify hardware failure trends with Data Center Technicians
- Perform health checks on returned or refurbished equipment
