About the Role
You will rack, cable, bring up, maintain, and decommission servers and related hardware. You will manage assets, diagnose infrastructure failures, respond to incidents, maintain documentation and runbooks, and support lab, staging, and colocation operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years in data center operations, hardware validation, or systems technician roles
- Rack-and-stack experience
- Hardware bring-up experience with BIOS or UEFI, firmware, component replacement, and Linux installation
- Linux command-line proficiency
- Experience with DCIM or inventory tools
- Strong written communication
Responsibilities
- Rack, cable, and decommission servers, PDUs, network gear, and storage
- Execute hardware bring-up, BIOS configuration, firmware validation, and Linux installation
- Replace and upgrade server components
- Maintain organized, ESD-compliant, audit-ready lab spaces
- Track assets and inventory using DCIM tools
- Coordinate equipment moves, shipping, receiving, and RMA workflows
- Diagnose hardware, power, thermal, and network issues
- Respond to infrastructure incidents
- Document troubleshooting actions and maintain runbooks
- Write and maintain SOPs, rack diagrams, and cabling guides
