About the Role
You will lead day-to-day data center operations and ensure a secure, reliable, and efficient 24/7 environment. You will manage technicians, oversee hardware and asset workflows, coordinate incident response and vendors, plan capacity, and maintain safety, security, and audit readiness.
Requirements
- 5+ years in data center operations
- At least 2 years in a formal leadership or supervisory role
- Experience supporting 24/7 customer-facing operations, shift scheduling, and on-call management
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana or Prometheus
- Ability to hire, train, and lead technical operations teams
- Written and verbal communication skills for high-pressure incident scenarios
- Experience with ticketing and incident tracking systems such as PagerDuty, ServiceNow, or Jira
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of Data Center Technicians
- Conduct one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and skill-gap assessments
- Oversee inventory and RMA workflows
- Manage the installation, cabling, and decommissioning of server, storage, and networking hardware
- Act as the primary escalation point for data center incidents and coordinate emergency repairs and root-cause analysis
- Monitor power, cooling, and space utilization and forecast capacity needs
- Supervise third-party maintenance contractors
- Maintain accuracy of the DCIM database
- Enforce physical security protocols and OSHA safety standards
- Lead SOC2, ISO, or HIPAA compliance audits and maintain documentation
