About the Role
You will act as the owner's representative for facility planning, programming, design development, and delivery. You will direct external consultants, develop requirements, lead design reviews, coordinate stakeholders, assess constructability, support approvals and procurement, and manage design matters during construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in design management, owner's representation, architecture, engineering, facilities development, or capital project delivery
- Experience managing architecture and engineering firms on complex facility projects
- Understanding of facility planning, programming, design development, and construction documentation
- Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams through all project phases
- Ability to review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
- Knowledge of building systems, construction methods, codes, and industry best practices
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience supporting active operational environments, including aviation or airfield facilities
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or greater and perform site visits in active construction environments
Responsibilities
- Lead facility planning, programming, and design execution
- Manage architecture, engineering, specialty consultant, and design-build teams
- Develop facility and infrastructure requirements with stakeholders
- Lead space planning, feasibility studies, and conceptual design development
- Oversee design development through construction documents
- Manage design schedules, consultant deliverables, review cycles, and budgets
- Lead design reviews and resolve technical issues, scope gaps, and coordination conflicts
- Review multidisciplinary building and specialty-system designs
- Evaluate constructability, maintainability, safety, scalability, and lifecycle performance
- Support permitting, entitlement, regulatory approvals, procurement, and contractor selection
- Manage design-related RFIs, submittals, field modifications, and consultant support during construction
- Use AutoCAD to review and coordinate design documentation
