About the Role
You will set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills, lathes, and turning centers to produce precision components. You will interpret drawings and GD&T requirements, optimize machining processes, inspect parts, provide design-for-manufacturability feedback, maintain tooling and equipment, and support process qualification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 7+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience
- 3+ years of experience with multi-axis lathes and high-speed 5-axis mills
- 3+ years of experience machining hardened metals
- Experience with CNC controls
- Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
- CAM software experience
- CAD experience related to CAM
- Proficiency with precision measurement instruments
- Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and turning centers
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements and plan machining sequences
- Provide machinability feedback on tolerancing, geometry, fixturing, and materials
- Evaluate and recommend CNC machines for production
- Perform first-article machining and optimize feeds, speeds, tool paths, and fixturing
- Measure parts and make offset adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Support finish machining of additively manufactured parts
- Manage tooling inventory and tool life
- Document machining results and process parameters
- Support process qualification and capability studies
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and identify equipment issues
