About the Role
You will lead day-to-day machine shop operations, including personnel, equipment, production schedules, quality, safety, and continuous improvement. You will coordinate machining resources, provide technical oversight, resolve production issues, maintain equipment readiness, and build scalable processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or related experience
- 3+ years leading machinists, programmers, or machine shop operations
- Knowledge of CNC mills or lathes, machining processes, tooling, fixturing, and setup
- Experience with tight-tolerance machined components
- Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and inspection requirements
- Experience managing production schedules and machine capacity
- Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, 6S, standardized work, or continuous-improvement methodologies
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day machine shop operations
- Manage, develop, and mentor machine shop personnel
- Own production schedules and priorities
- Coordinate machines, personnel, and shifts to maximize throughput
- Provide technical leadership for CNC machining operations
- Review drawings, GD&T requirements, tolerances, and specifications
- Ensure components meet quality requirements
- Oversee equipment utilization, maintenance, repairs, and calibration
- Maintain compliance with safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Lead continuous-improvement initiatives
