About the Role
You will program CAM jobs from CAD models and take prototype parts through setup, first article, and production. You will operate CNC and sheet-metal equipment, weld and finish assemblies, design fixtures, inspect work, manage tooling, support system integration, and provide manufacturability feedback.
Requirements
- Trade school, apprenticeship, or journeyman machinist certification
- Experience with Fusion 360 or Mastercam
- Experience with Haas controls
- Sheet metal fabrication experience
- CNC press brake setup and operation experience
- Waterjet or laser cutting experience
- TIG or MIG welding proficiency on aluminum and steel
- Prototype, R&D, or quick-turn job shop experience
- Tool crib inventory and tooling purchase experience
- CAD skills for fixture design
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
Responsibilities
- Program CAM jobs from engineering CAD models
- Own machining jobs from setup through first article and production
- Design and build fixtures, soft jaws, and workholding
- Set up and operate CNC vertical mills, manual mills, lathes, and shop equipment
- Operate waterjet cutting and CNC press brake equipment
- TIG weld brackets, enclosures, and fixtures
- Fabricate, finish, and fit formed and welded assemblies
- Manage tool crib inventory, tooling purchases, and vendor relationships
- Inspect work using metrology equipment and GD&T drawings
- Support prototype system and rack assembly
- Maintain shop equipment and support safe shop operations
- Provide design-for-manufacturability feedback
