About the Role
You will act as a scientific and strategic partner to the Executive Director. You will synthesize complex scientific inputs into decisions and recommendations, lead high-priority programs and collaborations, organize meetings and offsites, translate technical work for varied audiences, and manage confidential information with discretion.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent research training, or comparable technical depth from consulting or a founder path
- 5–12+ years of experience
- Background in genome or transcriptome engineering, functional genomics, neuroscience, molecular or cell biology, multi-omics, or computational biology
- Technical information gathering, stakeholder mapping, dependency management, and scientific synthesis experience
- Experience managing complex cross-functional research projects from inception through execution
- Experience translating technical or scientific work for non-specialist audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience designing and facilitating meeting pre-reads, agendas, and follow-ups
Responsibilities
- Serve as a scientific and strategic thought partner to the Executive Director
- Manage the Executive Director's operating rhythm, schedule, and competing priorities
- Synthesize technical information into options, trade-offs, and recommendations
- Design meeting and offsite pre-reads, agendas, and follow-up
- Drive scientific programs, collaborations, and special projects through execution
- Help define annual and long-term strategic goals
- Organize scientific collaborations and connect people, data, platforms, and reagents
- Translate technical work for scientific staff, leadership, funders, and public-facing audiences
- Handle confidential scientific and organizational information with discretion
