About the Role
You will advise on the legal and regulatory aspects of payment and banking products from design through launch. You will develop licensing and market-entry strategies, assess and mitigate risks, support corporate legal matters, manage external counsel, and build scalable legal processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of legal experience including significant fintech or financial services experience
- Strong knowledge of financial services and payments regulations
- Experience advising product engineering compliance and business teams
- Analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Project management skills
- JD from an accredited law school
- Bar membership in good standing
Responsibilities
- Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of product design development and launch
- Develop and execute licensing and market-entry strategies
- Oversee licence applications
- Provide regulatory guidance on payments money transmission cryptocurrency foreign exchange and cross-border transactions
- Identify and mitigate legal and business risks
- Support corporate governance employment privacy intellectual property fundraising and strategic transactions
- Manage external counsel and consultants
- Build scalable legal processes and frameworks
