About the Role
You will lead the UK legal function and advise senior stakeholders on strategic, regulatory, commercial, and legal matters. You will support UK expansion and licensing, engage with regulators and industry associations, oversee legal risk for digital assets, and handle product, governance, contracts, compliance, sales, partnerships, and marketing matters.
Requirements
- Law degree from a top-tier law school
- Qualification to practice law in the United Kingdom
- 14+ years of top-tier law-firm, in-house, financial-services, digital-assets, or regulator experience
- Experience with digital-asset and blockchain legal issues
- Experience with the Financial Conduct Authority and UK financial-services or crypto-exchange licensing
- Financial-services and digital-asset regulation experience
- UK licensing, marketing, advertising, and contract-law experience
- Cross-jurisdictional and global legal-team experience
Responsibilities
- Lead the UK legal function and advise UK stakeholders
- Support UK business expansion, licensing, and legal efforts
- Manage government and regulatory relations and industry-association participation
- Support product, regulatory, intellectual-property, trademark, governance, licensing, asset-listing, contract, compliance, sales, partnership, and marketing matters
- Analyze legal risks of digital assets and manage asset reviews
- Collaborate with product and business development teams
- Manage legal requests and advise on legal concepts and risks
