About the Role
You will lead end-to-end planning and delivery for Harvard-MIT AI Safety Workshops. You will recruit speakers and participants, design programming, manage logistics, collect feedback, and improve future events. You will also develop specialized research workshops and run monthly community networking events.
Requirements
- Experience in operations, event production, program management, or equivalent end-to-end event responsibility
- Ability to manage logistics for in-person events of approximately 50 people
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Strong written communication for outreach to researchers and university partners
- Experience with Airtable and application or review pipelines, or ability to learn them quickly
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Cambridge-Boston area
- U.S. work authorization
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end planning and execution of Harvard-MIT AI Safety Workshops
- Scale the workshop program with AISST and MAIA
- Curate and invite workshop guests
- Lead participant selection with AISST and MAIA
- Design workshop sessions, discussions, speaker slots, and career programming
- Gather and synthesize participant and guest feedback
- Identify opportunities for specialized research workshops
- Build relationships with faculty and research group leads
- Manage venues, logistics, programming, speakers, and participant experience
- Coordinate contractors, volunteers, or support staff for larger events
- Run monthly Cambridge AI safety and AIxBiosecurity networking events
- Manage invitee lists, outreach, and event programming
- Maintain relationships across the Cambridge AI safety community
