About the Role
You will develop unified narratives and positioning for AI and advanced-computing programs. You will write and edit communications materials, translate technical research for public audiences, pitch stories to media, highlight fellows and grantees, support multimedia content, manage requests, monitor performance metrics, and identify digital communication opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, computer science, data science, science, engineering, or a related field
- At least 5 years of professional communications experience
- Previous media experience
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, and computational research
- Ability to translate technical topics for non-expert audiences
- Experience collaborating with researchers, scientists, or technical experts
- Writing and editing skills
- Experience managing websites, digital-content platforms, and social channels
- Familiarity with analytics tools and audience-engagement metrics
- Project management skills
Responsibilities
- Develop narratives for the AI and Advanced Computing portfolio
- Advise program staff on positioning, messaging, and presentations
- Create profiles, interviews, and feature stories about fellows and grantees
- Draft and edit press releases, web content, reports, blogs, newsletters, op-eds, social posts, speeches, and explainers
- Translate technical AI and scientific research for diverse audiences
- Pitch stories to journalists, podcasters, and influencers
- Maintain consistent tone, brand, and messaging
- Collaborate on multimedia storytelling
- Monitor communications performance metrics
- Monitor grantee research outputs for amplification
- Manage incoming communications requests
