About the Role

ChainGPT is hiring a hands-on Accounting Specialist to lead accounting and core finance operations across a multi-entity group operating in multiple jurisdictions. The role covers close, general ledger, bookkeeping, crypto transaction accounting, reconciliations, controls, compliance coordination, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury visibility, and payment operations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in accounting, controllership, or finance operations with end-to-end close and reporting ownership.
  • Prior experience in web3 or crypto companies, exchanges, or crypto-heavy operations.
  • Strong IFRS/GAAP-level technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Crypto-native accounting experience with wallets, exchanges, reconciliation, and audit trails.
  • Strong documentation discipline, integrity, and written communication skills.
  • Comfort operating in a lean, high-ownership environment.
  • Hands-on Xero experience is mandatory.
  • Hands-on Cryptio experience is mandatory.
  • Bookkeeping or compliance experience across the US, SVG, Panama, or UAE is beneficial.
  • Audit, due diligence, fundraising, crypto tooling, blockchain analytics, or basic SQL experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close across entities.
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, FX revaluation, and supporting schedules.
  • Run the close calendar and maintain the monthly exceptions queue.
  • Keep accounting documentation audit-ready with organized evidence chains.
  • Own bookkeeping across entities and maintain consistent policies and coding.
  • Manage intercompany invoicing, reconciliations, balances, and related-party support.
  • Lead crypto transaction accounting across wallets, exchanges, custodians, networks, and tokens.
  • Reconcile crypto balances using wallet addresses, transaction hashes, and exchange statements.
  • Maintain classification rules for crypto flows and schedules for realized and unrealized gains, losses, and cost basis.
  • Implement finance controls, maintain the compliance calendar, and coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax providers, and legal counsel.
  • Deliver management-ready P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, treasury, burn, spend, budgeting, and forecasting reports.
  • Support payment operations with authorization and recordkeeping.

Hiring Process
