About the Role
You will build and lead the global environment, health, and safety function across data center development, construction, commissioning, and operations. You will establish global standards, management systems, metrics, audits, and reporting. You will oversee contractor safety, electrical safety, environmental compliance, incident investigations, emergency preparedness, and crisis response. You will recruit EH&S leaders, coach site and program leaders, engage regulators, and travel regularly to international sites.
Requirements
- 15+ years of EH&S experience
- 5+ years leading a global or multi-region EH&S function
- Owner-side or EPC experience on complex capital construction programs
- Experience across construction and operational environments
- Knowledge of US OSHA and at least one European regulatory regime
- Experience building an EH&S management system
- Electrical safety expertise in energized medium- and high-voltage environments
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field
- Ability to travel internationally 40–50%
Responsibilities
- Own global EH&S strategy, policies, standards, and performance targets
- Establish and maintain a global EH&S management system aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- Define EH&S metrics and implement an enterprise EH&S platform
- Direct audit and assurance programs and corrective actions
- Lead owner-side safety across global construction projects and contractor chains
- Establish contractor qualification, onboarding, and performance-management requirements
- Set and enforce safety standards for high-risk construction and energized operations
- Establish electrical safety, lockout/tagout, permit-to-work, and safe-work programs
- Ensure occupational, regulatory, and environmental compliance across operating jurisdictions
- Direct incident reporting, investigation, escalation, and organizational learning
- Lead emergency preparedness, crisis response, and regulatory notification
- Build and lead regional, site-based, and environmental EH&S teams
- Establish training, competency, certification, hiring, and succession standards
