About the Role
This position is based in Adams Street Partners' Menlo Park, California offices and focuses on venture capital and buyout fund investments, growth-stage co-investments, and venture secondaries.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of investing analysis and due diligence experience
- Experience investing in the technology sector through funds, co-investments, or secondaries
- Strong modeling, organizational, writing, and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of private equity and venture-sector trends, especially technology
- Ability to synthesize complex data clearly
- Strong relationship skills with clients, general partners, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently within an integrated global team
- Desire to build a career in venture capital investing
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- MBA or similar advanced degree preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Meet with general partner groups to evaluate investment opportunities
- Manage global venture capital and buyout deal flow
- Conduct market and investment-sector research
- Lead qualitative and quantitative investment due diligence
- Perform diligence on growth-stage co-investments and venture secondaries
- Prepare investment memoranda and participate in investment committee discussions
- Negotiate partnership terms and coordinate closings with counsel
- Support portfolio construction and evaluation
- Author research and thought leadership pieces
- Mentor and manage junior team members
- Monitor investments, reports, compliance, pipeline, and allocation planning
- Support marketing presentations and investor relationships
