About the Role
You will lead and develop engineering technicians, manage fleet readiness, and operate a safe, efficient workshop. You will plan vehicle buildouts and repairs, ensure compliance with Japanese vehicle regulations, coordinate with authorities, and support engineering and OEM vehicle engagements.
Requirements
- 7+ years of technical experience in automotive service, mechanical, electrical, or robotics environments
- 2+ years leading or supervising technicians
- Certified vehicle inspector qualification
- Knowledge of Japanese vehicle safety regulations and modification review processes
- Experience owning a service or workshop operation
- Native-level Japanese
- Business-level English
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop engineering technicians
- Plan and prioritize vehicle buildouts, modifications, maintenance, and repairs
- Manage fleet readiness and minimize vehicle downtime
- Operate a safe, organized, and efficient workshop
- Ensure vehicle modifications and inspections comply with Japanese regulations
- Coordinate modification applications and dealings with authorities
- Partner with engineering, hardware, vehicle operations, and OEM customers
