About the Role

You will independently build, wire, assemble, test, rework, and debug electromechanical robotic systems. You will resolve complex build issues, improve processes, fixturing, and documentation, identify design-for-manufacturability concerns, mentor Technician I colleagues, and maintain complete build records.

Requirements

  • 5–9 years of hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly, robotics, aerospace, medical device, or comparable low-volume, high-mix environments
  • Active J-STD-001 certification
  • Active IPC-A-610 certification
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, and BOMs
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and calipers
  • Strong soldering skills, including fine-pitch and through-hole rework
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work independently and take verbal direction

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble electromechanical robot subassemblies and full systems to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 criteria
  • Solder, terminate, crimp, and route wiring and cable assemblies
  • Verify assemblies through continuity and fault-isolation testing
  • Perform complex on-robot rework and debug mechanical and electrical issues
  • Independently complete unfamiliar builds with incomplete documentation
  • Drive process, fixturing, and documentation improvements with engineering
  • Identify design and process issues that affect design for manufacturability
  • Mentor Technician I colleagues
  • Read schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and BOMs
  • Run functional checkout and bring-up on completed robots
  • Maintain accurate, traceable build records and an ESD-compliant workspace
