About the Role

You will lead robotic builds across programs from sequencing through handoffs and quality review. You will build, wire, test, rework, and debug electromechanical systems; coordinate build readiness with design and manufacturing engineering; train technicians; and set standards for safe, traceable work.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly, robotics, aerospace, medical device, or comparable low-volume, high-mix environments
  • Active J-STD-001 certification
  • Active IPC-A-610 certification
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical assembly drawings, and BOMs
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and calipers
  • Strong soldering skills, including fine-pitch and through-hole rework
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to work independently and take verbal direction
  • Prior experience leading builds or a technician team

Responsibilities

  • Lead builds end to end across programs, including sequencing, handoffs, and floor quality standards
  • Act as the primary technician contact for design and manufacturing engineering on build readiness and DFM
  • Train the technician team and set work standards
  • Build and assemble electromechanical robot subassemblies and full systems to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 criteria
  • Solder, terminate, crimp, and route wiring and cable assemblies
  • Verify assemblies through continuity and fault-isolation testing
  • Perform on-robot rework and debug mechanical and electrical issues
  • Read schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and BOMs
  • Run functional checkout and bring-up on completed robots
  • Maintain accurate, traceable build records and an ESD-compliant workspace
