About the Role
You will work with aerospace, software, and systems engineers to create accurate technical documentation for aircraft systems. You will translate complex avionics, autonomy, and mission-system concepts into guidance; maintain publications and visuals; manage documentation standards and version control; and update materials based on tests, system changes, and operational feedback.
Requirements
- 3 to 10 years of technical writing or editing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, English, or a related field
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation for aircraft systems, complex hardware/software platforms, or similar domains
- Experience working with engineers and subject matter experts to document technical information
- Understanding of structured documentation practices and lifecycle documentation management
- Writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Ability to distill complex system behavior into concise, user-focused documentation
- Ability to manage competing priorities under tight timelines
- Ability to identify missing, ambiguous, or conflicting technical information
Responsibilities
- Develop technical documentation with aerospace, software, and systems engineers
- Manage documentation efforts across development, flight-test, and operational phases
- Translate avionics, autonomy, and mission-system concepts into structured guidance
- Review and edit content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and program standards
- Interpret engineering artifacts, specifications, interface documents, software descriptions, and test procedures
- Develop and maintain service bulletins, operating procedures, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting guides, training materials, and mission documentation
- Create and manage diagrams, workflows, illustrations, and annotated graphics
- Identify and resolve missing, inconsistent, or ambiguous technical information
- Maintain documentation standards, templates, and version control
- Update documentation based on flight-test results, system changes, and operational feedback
