About the Role
You will maintain the uptime and integrity of customer systems, monitor daily infrastructure operations, and manage Linux, virtualized, and containerized deployments. You will document technical designs, create training materials, troubleshoot information systems, enforce security policies, and work with DevOps to automate and scale core operational tasks. This role covers the overnight EST shift from 1 AM to 9 AM EST.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Expertise administering Debian-based distributions
- Expertise in computer networks, hardware, support, IT security, and related tools
- Experience with cloud, bare-metal, and VPS hosting environments
- Experience with databases and SQL; MySQL preferred
- Programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, and Ansible
- Strong Linux, Proxmox, and pfSense experience
- Fluent English
- Availability for the 1 AM to 9 AM EST overnight shift
- Experience with mission-critical, highly scalable systems
Responsibilities
- Maintain customer system uptime and integrity
- Build and architect systems that maintain uptime
- Document technical designs and create training materials and documentation
- Monitor daily server hardware, software, and operating system operations
- Manage installations, upgrades, and maintenance for Linux, Proxmox, and Docker deployments
- Work with DevOps to automate and scale core tasks
- Maintain security policies and guidelines to protect data assets
- Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems
- Work alongside TechOps, IT, security, and system administration staff
