About the Role
You will manage a team that reviews new and existing merchants for risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements. You will set performance expectations, coach team members, review complex cases, improve processes through automation and data, and collaborate with Compliance, Product, Sales, and Account Management.
Requirements
- 5+ years of direct people-management experience in CDD, KYC, EDD operations, or a Second Line Risk or Compliance role
- Experience in a fintech, payment service provider, or financial institution
- Knowledge of AML, CDD, EDD, KYC, PCI, card-scheme rules, and internal controls
- Ability to manage multiple operational tracks
- Experience coaching and developing team members
- Ability to review complex risk cases as a subject-matter expert
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Analytical and stakeholder-management skills
- Written and verbal English fluency
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the merchant onboarding and risk-assessment team
- Ensure compliance and efficiently handle escalations
- Set expectations and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and quality
- Manage individual and team performance through coaching and reviews
- Drive a performance culture balancing quality, customer experience, regulatory, and commercial needs
- Identify skill gaps and create development plans
- Lead process-improvement initiatives with cross-functional partners
- Use data to prioritize initiatives and measure operational impact
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to share best practices
- Foster an engaged and safe team environment
