About the Role

You will lead and expand a clean-energy policy portfolio, advancing evidence-informed policy across levels of government. You will develop legislative and institutional-capacity initiatives, serve as a public subject-matter expert, build stakeholder partnerships, manage budgets and grant deliverables, supervise staff, and grow funder relationships.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the U.S. clean-energy policy ecosystem
  • Technical depth in one or more relevant clean-energy domains
  • Understanding of government implementation, institutional capacity, and federal-state-local relationships
  • Track record of developing and advancing policy ideas
  • Experience building and managing coalitions or multi-stakeholder partnerships
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience managing complex projects, workstreams, budgets, and teams
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff
  • Familiarity with philanthropy and fundraising
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership, strategy, management, or senior project ownership

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the clean-energy portfolio
  • Develop and advance bipartisan clean-energy legislation
  • Design and lead a federal institutional-capacity initiative for clean energy
  • Explore and advance novel federal and subnational energy-policy approaches
  • Serve as the primary public voice on clean-energy topics
  • Build stakeholder partnerships to advance policy ideas
  • Develop fundable concepts and lead fundraising strategy
  • Manage funder relationships
  • Manage projects, budgets, and grant deliverables
  • Supervise and mentor staff and contractors
  • Align strategy and execution across policy teams and cross-cutting functions
