About the Role
You will lead governance, risk management, and compliance activities across retail banking advisory units. You will assess and improve controls, translate regulatory requirements into procedures, oversee audits and remediation, escalate material issues, and build risk awareness and accountability.
Requirements
- Expertise in consumer banking, wealth management, financial advisory, and sales-led distribution models.
- Knowledge of investment, bancassurance, financial planning, sales supervision, and frontline management.
- Experience in governance, conduct risk, operational risk, compliance, or first-line risk management.
- Knowledge of MAS regulations and the Three Lines of Defence model.
- Experience designing governance frameworks and control environments.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or large-scale change initiatives.
- Strong influencing, stakeholder management, communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- 12–15 years of experience in relevant disciplines, including at least 5 years in governance, regulatory management, business controls, conduct risk, or advisory governance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Responsibilities
- Review and enhance risk-management practices and control effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to DBS policies, standards, and MAS regulatory requirements.
- Assess business risks, operating-model changes, control gaps, and emerging risks.
- Advise leadership on MAS regulations and regulatory developments.
- Translate regulatory requirements into business controls, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and remediate control gaps and supervisory weaknesses.
- Integrate risk considerations into customer journeys, digital platforms, and transformation programmes.
- Coordinate audits, reviews, governance assessments, and resolution of findings.
- Escalate significant governance and risk concerns to senior management and committees.
- Build risk awareness, capability, accountability, and risk maturity.
