About the Role
You will define requirements and system architectures, build engineering models, and deploy and validate software on autonomous vehicles and defense systems. You will test perception, autonomy, communication, and simulation capabilities in office and field environments, document system status, and support real-world deployments.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in a relevant engineering, computer science, or optimization field, or equivalent
- 5 years of relevant multi-agent autonomy design experience
- Proficiency in Linux, command-line tools, and agentic tooling
- Proficiency in C++ and Python
- Hands-on experience with robotic systems, sensors, and vehicle autopilots
- Knowledge of inter-vehicle communication protocols such as DDS or ROS 2
- Experience integrating third-party software and APIs
- Experience with standards such as A-GRA, FACE, ARP 4754A, or DO-178C
- Systems architecture and requirements-writing experience
- Ability to work in field environments troubleshooting, testing, and deploying systems
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US security clearance
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25%
Responsibilities
- Define system requirements from user needs and operational concepts
- Define system and system-of-systems architectures aligned with open standards
- Design reference architectures for autonomy, mission, and weapon systems
- Lead development of systems engineering models and artifacts
- Develop, deploy, and validate software systems on autonomous vehicles
- Deploy software on vehicles and verify functionality in field environments
- Deploy and optimize perception pipelines and vehicle autonomy software
- Address inter-vehicle communication for collaborative autonomous operations
- Use simulation environments to validate vehicle systems before field deployment
- Document processes and provide system-status updates
