About the Role

You will define requirements and system architectures, build reference architectures, and create systems-engineering models. You will deploy, test, and validate software on autonomous vehicles; optimize perception and autonomy pipelines; support inter-vehicle communications; use simulation; and document system deployment and improvements.

Requirements

  • Have an MS or PhD in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline, or 5 years of relevant multi-agent autonomy design experience
  • Be proficient with Linux and command-line tools
  • Be proficient with Python or C++
  • Have hands-on experience with robotic systems, sensors, and vehicle autopilots
  • Know inter-vehicle communication protocols such as DDS or ROS 2
  • Have experience integrating third-party software and APIs
  • Have experience with relevant systems engineering standards
  • Have systems architecturing and requirements-writing experience
  • Be able to work in field environments
  • Be willing to travel up to approximately 50%
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain UK security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements from user needs and operational concepts
  • Define system and system-of-systems architectures
  • Design reference architectures for autonomy, mission, and weapon systems
  • Develop systems-engineering models and artifacts
  • Deploy and validate software on autonomous vehicles
  • Conduct fieldwork to test and troubleshoot vehicle software
  • Deploy and optimize perception pipelines and vehicle autonomy software
  • Support inter-vehicle communication
  • Use simulation environments to validate vehicle systems
  • Document deployment processes, system status, and improvements
