About the Role
You will own the camera stack from sensor and lens selection through calibrated frames for perception models. You will develop production camera pipelines, tune image quality, debug embedded hardware interfaces, and establish scalable calibration, diagnostics, and recovery processes for deployed robots.
Requirements
- Five or more years shipping camera or imaging software in production systems
- Experience bringing up image sensors on embedded Linux
- Hands-on experience with V4L2, MIPI CSI-2, drivers, and device trees
- Experience with camera intrinsic and extrinsic calibration and calibration validation
- Strong C++ skills for performance-critical systems
- Profiling and debugging skills for frame and latency issues
Responsibilities
- Define camera sensor, lens, and module requirements and lead vendor selection and hardware bring-up
- Develop sensor drivers, multi-camera synchronization, timestamping, and low-latency frame delivery
- Tune exposure, white balance, and dynamic range for perception models
- Create production calibration processes for camera intrinsics and extrinsics
- Validate calibration, monitor fleet drift, and enable field recovery
- Debug camera hardware interfaces, dropped frames, timestamp instability, and bandwidth limitations
