About Hivemapper
Hivemapper operates a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) built on Solana that crowdsources real-time street-level mapping data from everyday drivers equipped with dashcams. Contributors use Hivemapper's 'Bee' camera devices to capture imagery while driving, which is processed and added to a global map with fresh, continuously updated road coverage. The network is powered by the HONEY token, which transparently rewards contributors on-chain for the map data they collect, and Beekeeper offers fleet protection benefits to participants. Hivemapper's map data has been adopted by companies such as Lyft, positioning it as an alternative to traditional centralized mapping providers, and its client base spans crypto-native contributors, fleet operators, and businesses seeking up-to-date geospatial data.

About the Role
You will drive the architecture, design, implementation, and evaluation of core AI systems and data platform that powers map data intelligence at scale. You will partner across the company to ensure systems remain adaptable to emerging opportunities, and you will help plan technical roadmaps while contributing to higher level technical strategy. You'll work on complex systems that learn patterns about map data all over the world, enabling continuous evolution of map data intelligence, semantic extraction, and QA at scale.
Requirements
- Experience building production critical systems used by 10s of thousands of users or more
- Deep backend experience with large scale data platforms, DBs, ETL, distributed systems, etc.
- Strong analytical skills in a relevant field like ML, math, statistics, quantitative economics, etc.
- Track record of leading and mentoring teams in successful projects
- Experience generating, augmenting, and managing large amounts of ML training data (nice to have)
- Experience integrating or training/fine-tuning ML CV vision models, VLLM models, etc. (nice to have)
- Familiarity with geospatial data, HD mapping, sensors fusion, ADAS or AV, etc. (nice to have)
- Experience scaling products or systems at hyper-growth startups (nice to have)
