About the Role

You will build scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant ingestion systems that process data at production scale. You will debug and optimize low-level systems, design architecture, investigate production issues, and lead complex cross-functional projects. You will mentor engineers, plan sprints, delegate assignments, and guide technical initiatives.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience with database replication, backup, or transaction recovery at a major database vendor
  • Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures
  • Ability to work toward a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables
  • Experience driving company initiatives toward customer satisfaction

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant data-ingestion systems
  • Debug, measure, and optimize performance on large production clusters
  • Design architecture and influence the product roadmap
  • Prevent and investigate production issues
  • Plan and lead complex technical projects across multiple teams
  • Lead engineering review initiatives
  • Prototype and validate solutions to de-risk complex problems
  • Mentor engineers, lead sprint planning, and delegate work
