About the Role
You will lead complex backend initiatives from ambiguous problem definition through architecture, implementation, and production. You will build systems for AI-driven workflows, guide technical direction, partner with product and design, establish effective engineering patterns, and own testing, deployment, observability, reliability, and production operations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience building and operating backend systems
- Expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, algorithms, and system design
- Experience leading large, complex technical projects
- Experience taking products or systems from 0 to 1
- Experience designing scalable, reliable, high-performance production systems
- Strong communication and technical decision-making skills
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technical projects from problem definition through production
- Architect and build backend systems for AI-driven workflows
- Drive technical direction for scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems
- Turn ambiguous problems into clear plans and drive execution
- Build new systems and evolve existing architecture
- Establish engineering patterns and abstractions
- Partner with product and design on solutions and tradeoffs
- Provide technical leadership through architecture, code reviews, and mentorship
- Own testing, deployment, observability, reliability, and production operations
