About the Role
You will own the technical roadmap for core backend systems, identify gaps, set priorities, and drive execution. You will design scalable, low-latency services for real-time trading and event resolution, improve reliability and observability, align technical direction with product goals, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience at Staff Engineer scope or equivalent
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems for high availability, performance, and reliability
- Experience with or interest in prediction markets, sports betting, fantasy sports, trading platforms, or financial exchange systems
- Technical leadership experience driving engineering-excellence roadmaps and cross-functional outcomes
- Communication and collaboration skills
- B2C product experience
Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for core backend systems
- Design and build scalable, low-latency backend services for real-time trading and event resolution
- Lead initiatives for code quality, reliability, observability, and system resilience
- Partner with product, platform, and engineering stakeholders to align technical direction with business goals
- Mentor engineers and set the technical bar
- Contribute to hiring and onboarding
