Staff Software Engineer, EDR Agent (Go)
Skills
About the Role
You will design, develop, and maintain high-performance endpoint agents using Go that run on Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will apply your deep understanding of operating systems — processes, memory, file systems, syscalls, and the user/kernel boundary — to extract telemetry and manage state efficiently. You will integrate the endpoint application with backend SaaS REST APIs, build the concurrent, performance-sensitive core of the agent, and set the standard for what good Go looks like. You will use AI coding tools to move faster and define how the team uses them responsibly. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, explain low-level OS behavior and architectural tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and work with DevOps on end-to-end testing of the agent and its interactions with the web portal.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience writing idiomatic, concurrent, well-tested, performance-tuned production Go code
- Strong grasp of OS internals, memory management, file systems, process lifecycles, and the user/kernel boundary
- Real depth in at least one major OS ecosystem (Windows internals, macOS/Darwin, or Linux)
- Track record of ramping quickly on unfamiliar OS internals and APIs
- Proven track record developing software for distributed systems with scalability, performance, and reliability
- Experience using AI coding agents to accelerate development
- Experience or familiarity with EDR or EPP systems is a plus
- Ability to coach or mentor junior engineers
- Cybersecurity experience or willingness to learn
