About the Role
You will design, implement, test, and deploy autonomy software for unmanned aircraft. You will create behavior architectures, integrate planning and decision-making capabilities, use machine-learning methods alongside classical autonomy, analyze mission data, collaborate across disciplines, and support field testing and program needs.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, mechanical engineering, or a related field
- Production-level C++ software development proficiency
- At least 7 years of experience in software integration, behavior planning, task and resource allocation, motion planning, optimization, or flight controls
- Experience with version control, issue tracking, code review, and release-management tools
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects from concept to deployment
- Ability to mentor junior team members
- Ability to own a software system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmap, design, implementation, and sustainment
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Design tactical autonomy algorithms for unmanned aircraft
- Develop high-performance planning, decision-making, and behavior-execution software
- Implement and test multi-agent behavior architectures
- Integrate classical autonomy with machine-learning methods
- Collaborate with perception, planning, simulation, hardware, and flight-test functions
- Deploy capabilities and validate them through field tests and flight demonstrations
- Analyze mission logs and performance data
- Research and prototype algorithms for autonomy roadmaps
