About the Role
You will develop, integrate, configure, validate, and field autonomy software for unmanned platforms. You will lead a small feature crew, define technical direction, manage interface contracts, support mission tests, troubleshoot hardware and software systems, analyze mission data, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent practical experience
- At least 7 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with a master's degree, or 4 years with a PhD
- C++ proficiency
- Experience with real-time or latency-sensitive systems
- Linux development, embedded systems, shell scripting, and system diagnostics experience
- Familiarity with DDS, message buses, or other autonomy and robotics middleware
- Experience supporting unmanned or autonomous-system field tests
- Experience with autonomy simulation environments
- Experience leading a small technical team or delivering a major capability
- Engineer mentoring experience
- Experience authoring or negotiating interface contracts or ICDs
- System performance troubleshooting and optimization skills
- Communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate autonomy software for unmanned platforms
- Lead a feature crew or sub-program through design and delivery
- Define technical direction, break down work, and report progress
- Author and negotiate interface contracts
- Mentor engineers and onboard senior hires
- Drive design reviews, documentation, and post-mortems
- Build and validate mission-ready systems
- Support live tests, mission operations, and system troubleshooting
- Analyze mission data and reproduce issues in simulation
- Improve integration tools, processes, and deployment reliability
- Implement and validate command-and-control standards
- Interview and onboard engineers
- Travel to offices, customer sites, and integration and test events
