About the Role
You will lead the architecture and development of robotics software across perception, motion planning, controls, and execution. You will build scalable frameworks, optimize real-time systems, integrate AI techniques, mentor engineers, and guide long-term technical direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
- 8+ years developing robotics software
- Deep expertise in modern C++
- Python proficiency
- Experience architecting and delivering large-scale robotics software systems
- Expertise in motion planning, manipulation, controls, autonomy, SLAM, localization, perception, or robot simulation
- Understanding of real-time robotics, systems programming, multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Experience interfacing software directly with robotic hardware
- Linux, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and modern software engineering experience
- Ability to influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and lead cross-functional initiatives
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and development of robotics software across perception, motion planning, controls, and execution
- Design scalable, reliable, maintainable, and high-performance robotics software frameworks
- Drive motion planning and trajectory generation for complex robotic tasks
- Develop kinematics, collision checking, reachability analysis, and optimization algorithms
- Build and optimize real-time control systems, trajectory correction, feature tracking, and visual servoing
- Extend the autonomy stack with localization, mapping, navigation, and integrated manipulation
- Lead development of hardware abstraction layers and real-time communication with robot hardware
- Evaluate and integrate AI techniques including reinforcement learning, learned planners, foundation models, and simulation
- Mentor engineers and establish software engineering best practices
- Define technical strategy and production-ready robotic capabilities
