About the Role
You will lead laser-module bring-up, optical characterization, and validation from first light through production hand-off. You will develop test plans and automation, analyze results, investigate link anomalies, and deliver clear reports and manufacturing-ready test packages.
Requirements
- BS with 8 years, MS with 6 years, or PhD with 3 years in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, Photonics, or a related field.
- Hands-on laser-module characterization experience in a research or NPI environment.
- Proficiency with optical spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, lightwave component analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
- Experience executing structured test plans for optical or electro-optic assemblies.
- Python or MATLAB proficiency for measurement automation and statistical data analysis.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Familiarity with statistical process control, gauge R&R, or JMP for production yield analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead optical performance optimization and laser-module bring-up.
- Develop bring-up-to-EVT hand-off packages.
- Own optical-link characterization, validation, channel optimization, and margin verification.
- Develop manufacturing and characterization test plans, protocols, calibrations, and acceptance criteria.
- Write and maintain Python or MATLAB measurement-automation scripts.
- Build data pipelines for yield signatures and process trends.
- Author characterization reports and communicate recommendations.
- Validate laser-safety interlocks and controller characterization flows.
- Support test-plan deployment, NPI transitions, and manufacturing scale-up.
